

Players are granted the ability to dodge enemy attacks by executing a roll. However, in co-op play, it adds a feature where resting can respawn a fallen ally, and in order to rest at a checkpoint, all players should be present and must be using it at the same time. It also replenishes health, ammo, Dragon Hearts at the cost of respawning all enemies in the area. For both single-player and co-op play, resting will serve as a checkpoint and will be your last spawn location if you die.


There are checkpoints scattered in various locations, these checkpoints appear as Crystal Bonfires or Crystals.

An onscreen message appears whenever you approach something that can either be interacted with such as examining an item, acquiring an item, or using a mechanic such as crystals/crystal bonfires.Players are granted four quick item slots that can be used by pressing the directional buttons, you can manage these consumable items by going to the items section in the character menu.Pressing down the left will make the character run.The left stick is used to move around while the right stick is for moving the camera.You can spend up to 20 points into each trait you have available. The trait points are acquired by leveling up or by finding the Tomes of Knowledge hidden within the game’s world. Traits can be obtained by finding secrets or as an accolade for specific actions and milestones. They provide various bonuses to specialize your character. Traits are your passive attributes that gradually enhance your character with each point spent.Weapon mods can be purchased from vendors and sometimes require items obtained by killing bosses. These mods have an immediate impact on the gameplay providing tangible effects that can be changed at any given time to suit your combat needs. Weapon mods are attachments that change the visual design of the weapon while adding a passive or active ability to it.The upgrades provide a flat increase in damage and armor to help you keep up with the enemy’s increase in power. The upgrade system follows a linear pattern of spending an increasingly higher amount of scraps and materials of different quality.
